The ECA is one of the UK's oldest trade associations.  It's the leading body for the entire range of contractors and firms involved in the electrical and electro-technical industry, across the domestic, commercial and industrial sectors.

In 1901, leading electrical contractors from places including London, Newcastle, Leeds, Manchester and Birmingham decided to form a credible trade association to represent and support the industry.

Almost 120 years later, times have obviously changed and technology has rapidly advanced.  But the ECA continues to hold its original objectives and responsibilities and indeed much more.

The ECA has around 3,000 member companies from local electricians to major engineering contractors - who together have a combined turnover of over £6 billion each year.
