 Flexible, national role therefore travel essential
Salary:  National £44,576 - £64,682, Outer London £49,034 - £69,074, Inner London £53,590 - £72,368

A unique opportunity has arisen for an exceptional QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety and Environment) Manager with a comprehensive experience and track record of providing technical oversight of QHSE to a large operational estate spread across a national geographic area. The successful candidate will have oversight of technical delivery and support of QHSE services to contracts worth over £100m per annum and be accountable for all related technical compliance.

The role feeds into the Estates Cluster hosted by the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) which manages interests on behalf of the MoJ, Probation, Home Office (HO), Crown Prosecution service (CPS) and a number of Arm’s Length Bodies (ALBs). It comprises a diverse range of assets that include: training centres, operational buildings, approved premises and an office estate that supports the wider operational activities.

The post holder will be a member of the MoJ Estates Directorate FM Client Unit, supporting the Director of Hard and Soft FM in leading the Hard and Soft services function, providing strategic input and contributing to setting policy and strategic direction in the delivery of QHSE across the Shared Estates Cluster. The role will oversee all aspects of QHSE, with technical oversight of services including Health and Safety, Fire Safety and environmental sustainability for all buildings across the MoJ shared cluster. The post holder will be responsible for the provision of support and demand challenge of technical solutions to ensure they are in line with business policy, legislative compliance and represent value for money.

The post holder will be required to proactively engage and build strong relationships with stakeholders and customers across the Cluster in order to deliver building compliance and resolve customer issues, including managing crisis situations in relation to asset management functions.

With exciting changes currently taking place within the business, the post holder will be responsible for implementing a change programme within the function to respond appropriately to wider Government initiatives. This will require the development of innovative ideas and solutions on how to improve services and challenge business as usual assumptions. You should have strong leadership and management skills to ensure that staff and work transfers smoothly to new arrangements.

You should be a subject matter expert in QHSE compliance with a technical qualification or equivalent in Engineering, Building Fabric or Health and Safety and membership of relevant professional technical bodies e.g. RICS, IET, NEBOSH.

Things you need to know

The role will cover either Regional North or Regional South therefore the office base is flexible (London / Leeds). National travel is required which may be at short notice in response to health and safety or business critical issues as the demand of the role requires. Attendance at senior meetings in London is a pre-requisite.

The post holder must hold or obtain CTC level of security clearance
