Project Manager - Mechanical & Electrical

This is a great opportunity to join a privately-owned building services contractor who have enjoyed continued growth since their inception over 35-years ago, currently turning over in excess of £20m and working with a number of main contractors, developers, and government bodies on landmark industrial, residential, healthcare and commercial developments, across London and the South East.

Due to a recent project win they are looking for a Project Manager to lead on the delivery of a multi-million-pound mechanical, electrical and renewable energy project, on a mixed-use development.

Duties include:

  • Review programme of works with the Senior Contracts Manager prior to confirm arrangements are made to ensure the contract is completed on time and within cost.
  • Attend pre-contract meeting with client or main contractor to discuss site set up, programme of works, and agree means for open communications.
  • Manage all subcontractors on the programme of works, their standards of workmanship, and check that the site is properly set up.
  • Monitor the execution of the contract against its agreed programme of works, and co-ordinate the availability and timing of resources in support of the Site Supervisor.
  • Check that all site operatives and subcontractors comply with Health and Safety, CDM regulations, and the company's site operating standards.
  • Check that specified inspections and tests are completed on schedule, with prompt action taken to rectify snags, and a record kept of causes and corrective action taken.
  • Liaise with the client's representative on a regular basis to confirm progress is meeting their requirements.
  • Maintain control of all contract documentation, drawings, specifications, and submit returns and progress reports as required to the Senior Contracts Manager.
  • Carry out thorough inspections with the site supervisor prior to commissioning and completion dates to ensure that no residual snags delay acceptance and handover.
  • Prior to handover, check that all documentation, inspection and test certificates, O&M manuals etc., are complete and up-to- date.
  • Following handover to the client, ensure that any snags identified during their inspection of the installation are rectified within the times specified.
  • Meet with the Senior Contracts Manager to review and record the overall management of the contract against its requirements, timings and costs, and hand over all contract documentation and records.

On offer is a package of up to £60,000, plus car allowance, bonus and benefits. In addition to working for an extremely reputable business, with a flexible and friendly working environment.
