Estates Building Services Engineer
As the world’s largest ambulance service, we have an extensive estate encompassing our headquarters in Waterloo, another administrative building in Bow and 72 ambulance stations within the M25. To ensure these properties are maintained and developed to best support our service, we need a highly capable Estates Building Services Engineer.
Reporting to our Senior Building Services Engineer, you will arrange planned and adhoc repairs and maintenance of building, mechanical and electrical works ensuring satisfactory completion, a regular programme of maintenance and repair to all stations is maintained. You will have the ability to project manage major M&E maintenance works ensuring effective liaison with local operational managers to minimise operational disruption and ensure continuity of service. You will project manage our major capital engineering schemes and be heavily involved in the development of our annual works programmes.
Estate sustainability is essential for the service to adapt and meet present and future demand. It is imperative for candidates to have a good understanding of HVAC services and controls. Improving the energy efficiency of our buildings with implementation of modern technology is a fundamental part of the role.
Qualified to degree or equivalent standard, you should be a member of a relevant professional body and have recent significant experience in Building Services Management. A good understanding of statutory and local building services requirements is essential together with excellent written and oral communication skills. We are looking for someone who can work to deadlines without compromising standards, so the ability to manage a large workload and plan work according to changing priorities and deadlines is prerequisite.
