The ECA is a leading trade association that represents and supports the interests of businesses and organisations involved in all electrotechnical and engineering services in design, installation, inspection, testing, maintenance and monitoring.

We are looking for someone who has an enthusiasm in today’s increasingly intelligent buildings and has the knowledge required for the integration of cutting edge technology, communications, building automation and the way in which structured cabling is designed and deployed.  Furthermore you will be inspired by shaping the future of our industry through best practice and standards development.

The ideal candidate will be educated within an electrotechnical or engineering discipline to a technician or engineer level with working knowledge of building management systems and controls, plus extensive experience in structured cabling and systems integration, preferably in a contracting environment.

While the focus of this opportunity is on the research, knowledge, communication and advisory skills you possess, it will be advantageous to have technical hands-on experience with these technologies as well.

The role will include:

  • Developing knowledge and influence on methodologies and standards being designed for use in commercial, industrial and consumer focused industries.  Topics will include digital infrastructure; structured cabling; systems integration; building automation; smart building; connected devices; remote powering and network security.
  • Understanding how these technologies will impact the industry and the future of electrotechnical design, installations and maintenance and work with colleagues to identify and highlight the potential impact.
  • Help members stay on top of developments within digital infrastructure, providing support and creating a unique depth and breadth of comprehensive tools and information of a technical nature.

If you feel this is the role for you please send your CV and covering letter to Daisy.Woodgate@eca.co.uk
