ABOUT THE ROLE 

This is a leadership role for an experienced CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) Engineer in a global R&D team with responsibility to grow our team and external network. We focus on process engineering with the goal of accelerating scale-up from pilot plant to production scale and then rolling out across multiple process lines around the globe 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

As a CFD Engineer you will be responsible for:
Lead the CFD activities to deliver real benefits to Unilever’s products 

Work with Programme Director to define approach and strategy in CFD 

Growing our team and their capabilities to be world class 

Work cross-category, cross-customer group to maintain one common approach to CFD 

Work with and through external partners to deliver current and ensure future CFD capability 

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS 

A significant focus is process engineering simulations of mixing equipment 

MSc will be considered but only with substantial experience in fluid mixing 

Moving boundaries, rotating reference frames and sliding mesh 

Turbulence modelling 

Parametric studies and optimisation techniques 

Ability to build a high performing team 

Provide technical guidance in support of innovation projects. 

Provide coaching & leadership for CFD engineers in our global research labs 

Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders within Research 

Excellent communication, interpersonal and strategic influencing skills 

Proven experience with commercial CFD codes (Ansys CFX, Fluent; Siemens Star CCM+) and High Performance Computer (HPC) environments 



Evidence of ability to develop strong scientific networks
