Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, in partnership with the University of Buckingham, is a University Teaching Hospital. This allows us to attract, train and retain the best doctors and contribute towards the financial stability of the organisation. We’re now part way through a development programme that will see the organisation grow in the coming years with the number of key developments including a Cancer Centre that’s currently at FBC development stage.

We’re recruiting to attract a high achieving candidate to assist in the delivery of our long-term strategic objectives, working alongside the Associate Director of Estates.

You’ll have the required experience to manage the Trust’s Estates Engineering Services to ensure statutory obligations are met and you’ll and support and advise the Trust on the changes needed to support the Strategic capital programme.

You’ll be the lead engineer, managing a team of experienced estates officer’s with delegated responsibility for the direct labour force and the management of the specialist contracts required to maintain the estate in a suitable and safe environment.

The Estates team manage a range of estate services including Maintenance, Electrical Biomedical Engineering, Telecommunications, Car Parking, Security and well as the Trusts Capital investment programme.

With a successful track record at senior level in managing the engineering functions of the Estates, you’ll also have a proven track record delivering estates and FM operational solutions that are aligned to business needs and generate high levels of stakeholder engagement.

You will also have experience of building effective working relationships with internal stakeholders, ideally within a scientific environment, evidencing a very strong focus on prioritising the customer and excellent ability to gain their trust and support.

As well as being an inspirational leader, you’ll have significant experience in allocating resources and managing to a budget, along with evidence of strategic planning, and have proven change management and implementation expertise with the ability to enable major change projects.
