A leading building services consultancy in Hampshire has an immediate requirement for an experienced public health design engineer to join their multi-disciplinary design team in their Hampshire office.

You will be expected to support project delivery in providing public health design engineering services to a varied client base. Projects will be varied from complex high value large shell and core commercial developments, including offices, residential, leisure, shopping centres and major fit-out projects through to refurbishments and smaller but often challenging schemes.

You will need to be both a team player working within a multidisciplined group assisting other engineers and have the initiative to work alone. You will monitor the quality control on projects to ensure the company quality standards are being achieved, prepare calculations /specifications and drawings, ensuring they comply with the clients brief.

The role will give the right candidate opportunities to build and develop existing engineering and design skills together with exposure and use of contemporary design software and 3D modelling packages.

The successful candidate must have the following:

  • 2 to 5 years’ Public Health Design Engineering experience gained within a Building Services Consultancy or similar:
    • This experience must be
      • Across commercial (new build, refurbishment, fit out), residential and mixed use developments
      • Recent
      • Gained in the UK
      • Gained working mainly on UK projects 
      • *and include major £multi-million projects
  • Stable career history with longevity in each role
  • Candidates will be as equally happy preparing public health designs as they are taking overall responsibility of multi-discipline projects
  • Client / architect facing
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels
  • Approachable, professional, with excellent business acumen and drive
  • Relevant Building Services Engineering Design qualifications – ideally a degree+
  • Member of SoPHE
