Mechanical & Electrical Consultant Opportunity in Birmingham City Centre

Our client is a specialist M&E engineering consultancy who have been operating in the industry for over 40 years. They are specialists in technical management, building services design and energy management. Due to continuing demand for their expert services, the Birmingham office is recruiting for an experienced M&E Consultant to join their close knit team in their Birmingham City Centre office.
Your new role
In this role you will be operating as an M&E consultant and the role is a varied role which will include M&E condition surveying, dilapidation surveys, asset verification reporting, writing technical M&E specifications for project work, if able to electrical or mechanical design, project management & compliance management. The reports that you are involved with are used in high value property negotiations and so the ability to write strong technical reports, that are accurate and read well is very important. You will also be mobile a couple of times per week and will be required to get out the office and visit a variety of interesting buildings to collect the data for the report. You will also have the opportunity to be client facing with your customers. We are looking for someone with an electrical bias but also competent with mechanical.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed you will be ideally familiar with completing M&E condition surveys either as part of your role if you are from a M&E design background or either from a FM provider or specialist surveying organisation. An ability to complete performance specifications of mechanical and electrical equipment would also be a bonus but not essential. There could be support for a more junior level of candidate, or perhaps if you are keen to learn more on the design side but are fully up to speed with surveying then that could also work.
You will need to have a good standard of education and ideally be qualified to either Bsc/HNC/HND level ideally in Electrical or Mechanical or Building Services Engineering.
Also the ability to create strong technical reports is an important factor.
