Hays are working with a large public sector organisation to source an Energy Officer to join their estates team based in Lisburn.
Your new role
This is a temporary position for an initial 3 month period. You will be based in Lisburn reporting to the Estates Manager within the Technical and Estates Services Unit and responsible for ensuring that the organisations estate meets the necessary energy regulatory and statutory compliance requirements. You will plan, organise and coordinate an energy management programme and ensure efficient and effective energy and utility management across the organisations estate implementing energy related recommendations contained within the organisations estates strategy.
Ensure the efficient provision of a comprehensive range of estates energy management services for all properties and work in partnership across all directorates to enable the organisation to meet its strategic objectives.
Energy surveys, budget cost estimates, economic appraisals/ business cases, assist the Technical and Estates Unit with project design, preparation of contract documentation, working drawings, specifications, bills of quantities and evaluation of tenders.
Carry out energy/utility audits and routine energy/utility consumption monitoring on all properties, and ensure that the database is updated in a timely and accurate manner and promote energy awareness throughout the organisation through training, knowledge transfer and other initiatives.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this position you must have either a degree or HNC/D in either Electrical/Mechanical/Building Services Engineering, Environmental Engineering or Energy Management or equivalent and have a minimum of 1 years experience in an engineering discipline.
Additionally you must have knowledge of the principles and practices for energy conservation in the built environment and have the ability to carry out energy audits and surveys.
It is also essential to have a full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle.

The role offers flexible working Monday to Friday 37 hours per week. You will receive 34 days annual leave pro rata. The pay rate is £12.13 per hour and will be paid weekly every Friday via bacs transfer.
