Job Title: CAD Manager

 

Location: Woking - Plus some visits to the London Office

 

 

 

 

Job Summary

 

The CAD Manager shall act as a conduit between the engineering department and the CAD operatives.

 

Key Result Areas

 

The key result areas for the role are:

 

Resource Management

 

•     Responsibility for effectively managing the CAD department, involving the following:

 

o     Continual  (fortnightly) liaison with all engineers to ascertain incoming workload and project deadlines

 

      o    Continual liaison with all members of the CAD department to determine which

 

operatives are allocated to which projects ensuring that the department is evenly committed

 

o     Where required, outsource CAD workload and manage deliverables  of 3rd party consultants

 

•       At the beginning of each week, issue a bullet point report to the management team detailing all projects that have to be issued by the end of that particular week

 

•       Report to the management team on a monthly basis as to ongoing CAD resourcing requirements

 

•       Complete annual appraisals and agreement of KPl's (key performance indicators) with each member of the CAD department

 

Quality Control

 

•       Produce and update (as required) a set of company CAD procedural documents that clearly set out the standards and format that should be adopted by all CAD operatives when producing  CAD drawings

 

o     This document  shall also include standards that  should be adhered to by all members of the engineering staff when producing mark-ups

 

•       Oversee all work (mark-ups) issued by engineers into the CAD department to ensure that standards are being adhered to and where necessary communicate deficiencies back to the engineers

 

•     Oversee all work issued by the CAD department and be responsible for ensuring that the 'CAD standards' are adopted by all operatives

 

Document Control

 

•       Ensure that all incoming and outgoing  (internal  and external)  drawing information is saved in the relevant folder within the CAD directory

 

•       Where such projects utilise a document sharing platforms {4Projects, Huddle, Asite etc.) CAD operatives shall be responsible for uploading drawing content into the locations. The CAD Manager shall be responsible for managing this process.

 

Training

 

•       Identify any training requirements for all members of the CAD department and communicate these to the management team
