Intermediate electrical engineer - best projects AND best career progression
Intermediate electrical design engineers – are you working on top projects AND being given UK-leading career progression in your current role?
If not, why not? For some reason some companies seem to think one is enough and will neglect the development of their younger engineers if the projects are good enough (and vice versa). Any intermediate electrical design engineer can find themselves getting trapped by that approach.
My client are different. They understand for a young engineer to develop they need the double whammy of project exposure and careful nurturing from their line manager the organization as whole. Understanding this, their organization is set up to develop the best engineers in the business – and the reputation their engineers enjoy in the market is testament to this.
If you made a list of the top 5 M&E consultancies by reputation, the company would appear in anyone’s list who knows the industry. They have offices around the country and beyond, delivering a host of complex and exciting projects in a range of sectors.
In the Cambridge office, a number of new clients and long-term projects has raised the need for a new electrical engineer, and they are not interested in combing the market for a seasoned professional who might have learnt bad habits elsewhere. Their brief is to find a young intermediate electrical design engineer with the potential to become one of the country’s best and help them reach that potential – that is after all their specialty!
As a guide, the candidate might be around 2-4 years’ experienced, however that is not the important detail. Whether 1 year or 10, the important point is that you are ready, willing and ambitious to improve, someone they can be confident will be a market leader in 10 years. All they ask is some previous experience in building services electrical design engineering and a desire to learn.
