Opportunities like this one don't come up particularly often, we are currently looking for a mechanically biased Associate Director to come on bard and work with an award-winning MEP Consulting Engineering practice based in Sunderland.

The client that we are currently working with have been established for over 25 years and made a name for themselves within the UK market as well as having an international presence. They have multiple offices across the nation and work on some brilliant projects country wide in a variety of different sectors. Projects ranging from aviation to hotel and leisure, this would be a great opportunity to really diversify your project portfolio.

As an a Mechanically biased Associate Director you will be expected to lead and develop the building services division within the Sunderland office and be responsible for a team of building services engineers. You will still be expected to help out with technical aspects of projects and mentoring junior and intermediate engineers to ensure they achieve their full potential within the business. You will be responsible for the delivery of a variety of different projects and will take over some of the company's key accounts, at the same time you will be expected to constantly try and develop the client base. You will have involvement of financial aspects of the business as well as the recruitment process when it comes to the employment of new engineers. You will be expected to liaise with other professionals internally and externally whether this is design meetings or attending industry events to boost the business image.

Mechanical Associate Director Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant subject
  • Held a similar position in previous roles
  • Minimum of 12 years' experience in the Building Services industry
  • You will ideally be chartered and hold other professional industry qualifications
  • Up to date knowledge of building regulations/ legislation
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Brilliant client management
  • Strong leadership characteristics
  • Good working knowledge of a variety of design software
  • Full UK driving license
