Your new company
You will be working for a multi-disciplinary consultancy with 30 years FM experience with offices in Birmingham City Centre. You will be working in a large FM team that consists of Contract officers that are responsible for different specialist areas. This position will focus on their Lift contracts. The organisation is responsible for over 700 properties with lifts and work with high quality contractors to ensure their successful refurbishment, new build installations and repair and maintenance.
Your new role
You will be responsible for overseeing the contractors that work on any lift project - be that an install or the service repair or maintenance. You will be arranging with contractors site visits, relevant H&S paperwork is completed including risk assessments & method statements, inspect the completed works, sign off completion certificates, and management the payment processes. You will be required to have experience of mechanical building services engineering and understand the statutory compliance associated with lifts. You don't need to be a lift expert as the core skills are mechanical contractor management, paperwork process, communication skills. But strong mechanical building services knowledge will definitely put you in a strong position.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have a mechanical engineering, HVAC, Lifts , Building Services qualification and experience managing contractors. Good relationship building skills, financial management skills and quality inspection skills.
What you'll get in return
You will be responsible for a large and important contract with over 700 sites. The role is a long term 6 month plus assignments.
