We are looking for a Building Services Engineer with at least 4 years’ experience who shares our passion.

You:

Your role will be to work with our Engineering and Physics team in the day to day running of our Projects. You will be an excellent services engineer with a head for problem solving and shall demonstrate a keen interest in developing your management skills, running projects and teams and becoming an integral member of Greengauge helping the company to grow and develop.  You will have at least 4 years’ experiences as a services engineer with at least 1 years’ experience running and managing projects and people.

You will have demonstratable experience running the Mechanical Services side of projects from fee proposals, early stage design development through to providing the necessary support whilst projects are onsite, working with team members and other consultants. You will have a good knowledge of the electrical aspects of services design, however this may not be your formal training.  You will have excellent communication skills to work with other members of the design team and our Clients.

You will be competent in IT including excel, word and other office based software, your written communication skills will be excellent. You will have a working knowledge of a 3D based CAD software such as Revit or Archicad, you will demonstrate a working knowledge of BIM and be happy to use these drafting tools for project delivery.  

You will have a good knowledge of the Building Regulations in particular Part L and you will have a good understanding of the modelling and compliance tools, such as IES, SBEM and or TAS. You will have a good understanding of other guidance and compliance targets such as CIBSE TM59 and 52 and BB101 for example. You will also be able to demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of Passivhaus and how the services are an integral part of the Passivhaus design methodology.

You will hold a relevant degree or postgraduate qualification in maths, physics or engineering.

A full, clean UK driving licence is required as you will need to get to meetings independently – but we do use public transport, walk and cycle whenever possible. You will have good verbal and visual communication skills. You will be self-motivated, and have desire to learn.

At times it can be hard graft. If the deadlines all come together, you will be expected to roll your sleeves up.
