We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and ambitious electrical building services engineer to join our team in our Essex office working on an exciting and varied range of projects within the UK and Europe and carry out the following duties: -

  • Carrying out detailed electrical building services design engineering on a broad range of mission critical new build and refurbishment construction projects
  • Undertake feasibility studies through to concept and scheme design stages
  • Attend design, client-team and technical meetings
  • Inspect and report on electrical building services systems
  • Work independently and as part of a design team
  • Utilise electrical design software for calculations
  • Undertake design work consisting of surveys, design, drawings and specifications for projects
  • Produce marked up drawings for CAD and Revit by others or produce CAD design drawings for issue
  • Select and specify products, equipment and installation standards relating to electrical services suitable for the costing and installation by contractors

Qualifications

Essential Criteria

  • BSc (Hons)/BEng (Hons) in an Engineering based subject from a leading university (1st or 2:1)
  • Practical experience within the industry
  • Experience of complex electrical engineering system

Desirable Criteria

  • MSc in an Engineering based subject from a leading university
  • A hobby with a technical or practical dimension
  • Experience of mission critical systems

Essential Skills

  • Ability to design principle electrical systems from concept design, through detailed design to installation and review.
  • Ability to view and interpret drawings in AutoCad
  • Understanding principles of and ability to review and interpret models in Revit/Navisworks
  • Understanding and knowledge of building and wiring regulations
  • Use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Use of Amtech Pro Design and HV Powernet Software
  • Understand the principles of HV design.
  • Understand the principles of availability, redundant components and resilience in electrical systems.
