Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer - To £40K

I'm looking for an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer for a medium sized, international multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy based in London.

They are happy to consider an experienced Intermediate with around three to six years' experience; or a client facing Graduate with at least two years' experience in Building Services who is ready to step up into their first intermediate role.

As an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer will assist with the design of all aspects of electrical building services on projects using Amtech, Dialux and AutoCAD.

You will benefit from working closely under a Chartered Principal Electrical Engineer and the opportunity of attending site during the installation stages of the projects. This will allow you understand what you are designing and develop good spatial awareness and appreciation for MEP co-ordination.

Key Duties;

• Production of Electrical design calculations for projects across RIBA stage 2 - 5.
• Assist with LV distribution, internal and emergency lighting, fire detection and alarms systems, Access control, CCTV and lightning protection design.
• Volt drop calculations, cable sizing, sizing of switchboards and distribution boards and schematics.
• Produce Tender/Contract information (including layouts, specifications & schedules)
• Attending design team meetings with contractors, client's or architects.
• Checking Technical submittals from the Contractor.
• Responding to the contractor RFI's or seeking assistance from an Intermediate or Senior Engineer.
• Ensure you designs are coordinated with the Mechanical, Public Health and Structural Engineers.
• Attend site visits and witnessing.

Requirements

• Degree (Or HNC / HND) qualified in Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
• Able to use at least one of the following; Amtech, Dialux, Relux or AutoCAD.
• Able to work in the UK without the need for a visa / sponsorship.
• Previous hotel, residential, commercial office or mixed-use project experience.
