Main Responsibilities
Reporting to the Sustainability Manager, the Energy Manager will be responsible for setting the strategic direction for improving energy efficiency. You will lead initiatives and energy management projects and monitor the impact of these in reducing energy costs, consumption and carbon emissions across the University’s estate.
You will provide specialist expertise and direction for carbon and energy management in line with the University’s strategic plan. This will encompass responsibility for identifying efficiency improvements, providing expertise in energy management for major capital projects, developing and monitoring progress against targets and raising the profile of carbon and energy reduction within the organisation.
Person Specification
The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience in energy management across a comparable diverse and complex estate in addition to a degree in a related energy/engineering discipline. You will possess strong communication skills with the ability to succeed in highly collaborative and collegiate environments that rely on extensive stakeholder engagement. The role will suit professionals with a proven track record in delivering a strategic approach to energy management across a similar multi-site portfolio.
