The post of Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Manager is a challenging and rewarding role ensuring effective, operational and compliant Building Services with optimum energy efficiency across our sites. Your utmost priority is our customers. You will ensure customer satisfaction, health and safety and good energy practice are at the forefront of your work, demonstrating urgency and a hands on approach in satisfying these critical aspects of KAL’s service delivery.

In order to fulfil your role you will diagnose faults, problem solve and provide engineering solutions. You will play a key role in new facility developments and facility improvement projects and will have the opportunity for both personal development and to develop KAL’s systems and processes.

In all aspects of your role you will work collaboratively with colleagues, and relevant contractors and/or external partners. Reporting to the Facilities Management and Safety Manager you will also work particularly closely with the Energy Manager. Using your up to date specialist knowledge and experience you will provide technical support and ensure safe, effective working practices. You will be flexible with your working pattern, being reactive to operational emergencies and providing a visible presence out at site.

Meeting KAL’s financial regulations you will source and manage contractors and have direct responsibility for all aspects of M&E and BMS.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A minimum of an HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Recent experience and up to date knowledge of working with Building Services; preferably HVAC
  • An awareness of energy management techniques and practices
  • Experience of working in an environment where problem solving and negotiation skills are part of the job and the ability to demonstrate these skills
  • Experience of automated BMS, such as TREND
  • Budget management experience
