If you are an experienced Mechanical Engineer with drive, ambition and the ability to manage and deliver a variety of Mechanical projects including Communal Heating Work then this will be an opportunity for you.

The opportunity is for an Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering Building Services Team. You will be responsible for the delivery of a variety of Mechanical projects for the social housing department at the London Borough of Islington. You will be required to undertake project design, technical reports and manage works from inception through procurement to completion of works on site.

The successful candidate will ideally have a proven track record managing and delivering electrical projects with the ability to ensure the highest possible standards are maintained. You will manage and coordinate your own workload with minimal supervision. You will have an understanding of procurement and contract administration processes and have the ability to undertake design and detailed technical reports.

The successful candidate will have excellent technical knowledge of Mechanical engineering and have the ability to overcome challenges which may arise to ensure projects are delivered on time and to budget.

You will contribute to the development and delivery of the forward five year asset management plan and capital improvement programme to ensure mechanical services are maintained to a good standard and are fully compliant with the latest statutory regulations and codes of practice.

You will be expected to be conversant with the requirements of statutory Health and Safety policies and procedures and the latest CDM Regulations to effectively carry out the role.

A basic DBS ‘Disclosure and Barring Service’ check for regulated activity (formerly known as CRB) will be required for this role.
