This is a great opportunity to establish a Building Services Engineering Programme of study with accreditation.
A sub-tropical island of spectacular and beautiful landscapes in the South Atlantic with a warm and friendly population of 4,500, St Helena is a self-governing overseas territory of the UK. Following the opening of its international airport in October 2017, St Helena is better placed to develop both economically and socially.
You will co-ordinate and develop BSE at the island’s Prince Andrew School and help to develop assessment and reporting systems. Teaching aspects such as plumbing, electrical installations and HVAC, you will establish an accredited qualification. Supporting the training, up-skilling and development of staff in the school’s Technical Studies Department, you will identify a successor and a solution for filling skill/capacity gaps, facilitating CPD and succession plans for the team.
As a member of the school’s Technology Department, you will provide quality teaching and training to include planning, preparing and delivering appropriate schemes of work and monitoring and assessing student performance. Managing resources and equipment you will develop courses for FE students, overseeing and implementing distance learning programmes and online study courses.
Qualified to degree level or above in BSE, you will have substantial experience of teaching or instructing students in the subject. You should also be a Qualified Assessor for City and Guilds in BSE or equivalent.
