The Open University (OU) is the largest university in the UK by student population and is the only university to operate in all four nations of the UK.  Estates are responsible for managing, maintaining and developing the University’s premises.

We are looking for a highly motivated and organised engineer to support Estates compliance.  You will manage compliance and lead on implementation of action plans arising from risk assessments of the built environment.  You will develop and maintain method statements for planned maintenance and technical specifications for maintenance contracts for engineering services and building infrastructure.

You will provide advice on the requirements of regulations, codes of practice and industry standards for the built environment.

You will be flexible, able to adapt to change, use initiative to provide practical solutions in conjunction with colleagues and possess excellent interpersonal skills including communication, negotiating and influencing.

You will have an HND, HNC, BTEC, NVQ level 5 or degree relevant to building services, mechanical or electrical engineering.
