Our client has been established for over a century and are one of the most recognisable consultancies across the world. They work on some of the most documented projects across the UK and are considered to create the best engineers within the built environment. This team work on some of the largest projects of their kind in the industry and are currently on the lookout for an innovative and highly dynamic Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to come and join their Mission Critical team in the Birmingham office.

The successful Principal Mechanical Engineer will be a time served professional with exceptional technical ability and will have thorough experience of designing mechanical systems throughout the mission critical sector. You will have demonstrable experience in this sector and will have ideally worked on some notable data centres. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join their busy Birmingham office, to work on the design of some of the most exciting critical system/data centre design projects in the UK and internationally. As part of the established team of expert engineers, and working closely with colleagues of various disciplines, you will prepare a range of documentation and designs from feasibility and concept through to detailed engineering design, and site support. You will have good working knowledge of a variety of different design packages and will be able to mentor more junior and intermediate members of staff.

Principal Mechanical Design Engineer Requirements:

  • Degree or HNC in building services/ mechanical engineering
  • At least 7 years' experience within a design role within a building services consultancy
  • CEng or working towards chartership
  • Ability to mage multiple projects at one time
  • Good knowledge of a variety of design software
  • Full UK driving license
