Principal Electrical Design Engineer
£65k Neg + Package
Location: Surrey
The company:
My client was establish 100 years ago with long standing relationships within Health Care, Royal estates & multi million pound residential clients. The company is going well and due to growth are looking for Senior/Principal Electrical Design Engineer with a view to becoming a partner within in the business within the next 2/3 years
Key Responsibilities:
- Development of electrical systems in accordance with employers requirements/concept
- design (Stage 2+)
- Cable calculations including discrimination studies/diversity calculations/voltage
- drop/overcurrent selection
- Lighting calculations including Lux values/uniformity values
- Assisting with production of contractors proposals – detailed specifications and supporting
- drawings/schematics
- Liaison with Mechanical team for power/containment requirements and co?ordination
- Liaison with the Estimating team for tender assessments and pricing purposes
- Survey and report on existing electrical installations and identify customer requirements
- Highlight changes in standards/legislation and report to the business
Qualities and Skills
- 10 years’ experience in an electrical design capacity
- Ability to lead team members to achieve the best engineered solutions
- Mentoring and management of junior engineers
- Legally able to work in the UK
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Communicate and present in a professional manner
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Actively demonstrate initiative, and able to work under pressure
Experience and Qualifications
- HNC/D orDegree level qualification
- IEng or CEng preferable
- Membership of engineering body preferable (MIET/MCIBSE)
Candidates should have experience in the use of
- MS Office
- Dialux/Relux
- Trimble cable calc
- AutoCAD/Revit experience of benefit
