“See that Building there? That building is a world first for sustainable design. Literally changing the world. And we did that!”

That’s an actual quote from a client, as he pointed to a building in the London skyline during our meeting outside a Central London pub this week, as we talked about his requirement for a new sustainability engineer on his team.

It’s an extraordinary thing to be able to say, and very few people truthfully can. But here in London, more than most, as we have some of the most cutting edge design in the world in this city.

And this company, this team, are one of the few groups of people who are doing that work, designing those buildings regularly, who win these projects because of their reputation for continually innovating and making each project better than the last. Among other accolades, that’s why they are one of the original partners on the Design for Performance initiative.

I could tell you they work on “landmark developments” with “big name developers”, producing “innovative engineering solutions” for “prestigious clients”, all those buzzwords you see sprayed thoughtlessly across job ads, company websites, CVs, anywhere anyone writes about the construction industry. But none of that properly expresses what this kind of design work is all about.

What it’s all about, is that moment when you look up and see a world first, game changing building, that YOU helped design.

If you’re a sustainability engineer with an interest in designing innovative buildings, then give John Sanger a call to talk about this opportunity on 07814 619544. Your experience level doesn’t really matter – the important thing isn’t how many years you’ve been working, it’s about your skills and motivation.
