Electrical Estates Engineer
Electrical Building Services Engineer required by a large public body on an ongoing temporary contract basis.

The services of Hays have been retained by our client, a large public body based in Belfast, to recruit an Electrical Estates Engineer. This role is initially offered on a temporary contract basis for a period of 6-12 months with the possibility of further extension.
Your new role
Reporting to the Head of Estates, you will be required to assist in the delivery of all planned, reactive and small works projects throughout the clients' estate in addition to providing specialist input on electrical services for capital projects.
The successful person will be responsible for:
Electrical aspects of all Building Services throughout the estate;
Ensuring that these essential services are maintained to the required standards to perform effectively and efficiently; Design, survey, manage and maintain electrical power generation and transmission; supply and distribution of LV, circuits and earthing, motors, drives, controls, lighting systems and emergency lighting across all buildings and sites;
Supervise and report on contracted external maintenance contractors;
Create planned maintenance programmes Monitor and report on statutory compliance;
Action reactive maintenance;
Undertake the preparation of economic appraisals on all major and minor works projects;
Prepare and submit development proposals for review;
Assist with the procurement of contractors;
Manage external consultants (design teams);
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this position, you should satisfy the following essential criteria:
Hold a degree in a Building Services / Electrical Engineering related discipline with 2 years post qualification experience building services maintenance and/or project work, OR;
Possess a BTEC, HNC/HND in a related Building Services / Electrical Engineering discipline with 5 years post qualification experience in the delivery of building services maintenance and/or project work, OR;
Have a Level 3 time served electrical qualification with 7 years experience in the delivery of building services maintenance and/or project work.
You should be able to demonstrate experience of:
Creating and Managing Planned Maintenance Programmes;
Preparing formal reports or papers including analysis of data;
Building positive and productive relationships with a range of stakeholders.
