Senior Mechanical Design Engineer- £40+ P/hr - West of Surrey - Flexible working hours.

Your new company
My client is a well-established, multi discipline building services and environmental engineering specialist consultancy based in Surrey. Due to recent contract awards in the educational, residential and healthcare sector the client is looking to add key individuals to further develop the business. They typically take on projects ranging from luxury residential sector new build. Healthcare and Education on projects ranging up to 40 Million.

As part of their growth, they are now looking to add a Senior Mechanical design engineer to join their team. The company currently has a team ranging from CAD Technicians, mechanical design engineers and electrical design engineers, they work in a supportive, social, collaborative and fun working environment for a firm that genuinely considers their staff to be their greatest assets.


Your new role
As one of the Senior Mechanical Design Engineers, you will report to the company Director.

You will be responsible managing and leading a team of design engineers with a diverse mix of skills and abilities to deliver required outputs and solutions. Going out on site for inspections about once a month. Providing technical support and direction to the design team. Communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers and suppliers. Ensure that designs comply with all appropriate customer requirements and meet regulatory requirements. Also Ensure the highest levels of quality and productivity are maintained within the team and department. Being able mentor your team to develop and hone their skills, identifying and assessing gaps in their capabilities required to complete allocated tasks, arranging training and support where required.


What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role you will need to have relevant experience to the job, as well as very good knowledge to methods. The ideal candidate will have a minimum Min of 5-year experience in full time consultancy. Understanding of Mechanical Engineering principles, and good theoretical knowledge.
