Mission Critical MEP Project Manager

Client-side opportunity for a MEP Project Manager to work for a global data centre provider.

Our client work on data centres across the globe and they have successfully forged an enviable reputation within the mission critical sector. Due to an impressive portfolio of work, and order book of projects they are looking to add a Project Manager from a building services background with previous data centre experience.

The successful candidate for managing all aspects of construction projects. Include providing leadership to consultants, vendors and contractors. Projects will be regional; however, projects out of region may be assigned. The Project Manager will oversee challenging deliverables against aggressive project expectations and will report to the Director of Construction. The candidate will have overall responsibility for delivering the assigned project(s) safely, on budget, on time, while ensuring that the project scope and quality meet the companies design standards and the objectives set for the project.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The Project Manager will be responsible for managing the day to day activities of the various contractors and vendors in the delivery of Data Centre projects.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously as required
• Responsible for creating and managing project schedules.
• Serve as a key liaison with managers of all company departments including executive management, operations, sales and finance.
• Liaise with clients where applicable and manage both their needs and expectations.
• Responsible for creating and managing project budgets.
• Responsible for Monthly Project reporting to the Director of Construction to assure that budget, schedule and scope objectives are being achieved by the project teams.
• Assist with preparation of requests for proposals to Contractors and Consultants, including detailed evaluations and recommendations.
• Brief and instruct the Project Team of their roles and responsibilities.
• Develop and maintain the Project Execution Plan for the project(s)
• Monitor the Project Team in their general performance of their services.
• Monitor the distribution of information between the Project Team and between the Project Team and third parties.
• Ensure all project scope and risk is managed through supply chain appointments
• Assist in negotiating contracts with vendors as necessary. Review and become fully conversant with all legal contracts on the Project(s)
• Responsible for handover of Project(s) to the operations team, including the resolution of all defects
