Our refurbished offices are in the city centre near to the station (London St Pancras 20 minutes), shops and restaurants. In short, it is a great place to live and work.

In this post you will be responsible for carrying out capital improvements to the Council's housing stock, taking a lead role in exploring procurement initiatives, new products and technologies. You will also be the lead officer for Asbestos Management and have oversight of the CDM process.

Educated to degree level, or equivalent, in Building Surveying, you will ideally also be a member of RICS/CIOB or have considerable experience in the field. You will also have a wide range of professional building surveying experience including project and budget management. You will also be expected to partake in the Councils emergency out of hours repairs rota.

Detailed knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, standards and core disciplines of work area including DDA Act 1995, Health & Safety at Work Act, CDM Regulations, Building Regulations, Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006, the JCT suite of contracts, planning and building control applications and related issues, is essential for this post.
