Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Our client is a large electrical and mechanical consultancy, designing and delivering bespoke solutions. They work on high profile national projects, including; commercial, residential and educational schemes, and due to an increased demand for their services, are currently looking to expand their Manchester office with the addition of a Senior Electrical Design Engineer.

As the Senior Electrical Engineer, you will deliver engineering solutions for a variety of projects, including large scale commercial and financial projects. You will be technically competent and proficient using software such as Amtech and Dialux. You will be capable of managing a portfolio of projects from planning and detailed design stages to project delivery. In this role you will liaise with existing and potential clients to promote business development and positive business relations, and support more junior members of the team.

Key responsibilities:

• Writing and reviewing technical specifications for tender and construction, as well as completing various calculations for system sizing and selection
• Use Amtech/Dialux and ideally Revit, along with other relevant software to design and analyse electrical systems
• Manage and mentor junior and intermediate engineers
• Project management and delegation of tasks to other members of staff
• Working within a team of engineers to ensure deadlines are met
• Assisting Senior Management in delivery programme and resource management

Essential requirements:

• Extensive experience in a similar role
• Experience delivering a mixture of development projects
• Strong and clear communication skills, as you will be required to liaise with clients, other staff and internal management up to Director level
