About the role
You will be responsible for the successful technical design and delivery of assigned major and minor works to programme, and within allocated budget. Some of your accountabilities will include; line management and development of the graduate and junior teams, as well as management and responsibility of the Mechanical Design Services within the Estates Team and management of externally appointed professional teams and contractors.
Your responsibilities will include preparation of mechanical design calculations and scheme designs, estimates, specifications and tender documentation, project management of various projects incorporating all building disciplines, electrical services, power and distribution.
You will also be responsible for the preparation of consultant briefs, managing tendering procedures and contractor appointment
About you
It is essential that you have a formal qualification in mechanical engineering or building services, or equivalent experience. You will have membership of the IMECHE, or CIBSE and either CEng or I Eng.
You will also have demonstrable knowledge and experience of and dealing with current construction legislation, including planning, construction and contract law, health and safety and disability legislation.
It would also be beneficial if you hold any evidence of formal project management training.
