Associate Director - Fire Safety

Our client is a well-known and highly sought after Multi- disciplinary consultancy based in central London with multiple offices around the country. They are finishing 2020 strong and are now in a position where they need to review appointments for 2021. They have decided they need to appoint an Associate Director for their Fire team. This person will be coming in as a Team Leader and will be focused on internal efficiency and will have a good understanding on how to get the most out of the existing team.

The successful person will be extremely technically focused and will be focused on delivery of large schemes and technical output. This person will have demonstrable experience when it comes to delivery of consultancy services and must have experience with Fire Strategy Design. You will have excellent understanding of UK legislation, standards and guidance, such as Regulatory Reform (Fire & Safety) Order 2005; HM Government Fire Safety Risk Assessment Guides; The Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999; Building Regulations - Approved Document B; BSI PAS79.

This consultancy's fire department is around 10 strong at the moment in London and they are looking to grow this to about 15 by the third quarter of 2021 to accommodate their increasing workload.

The primary responsibility of the role will be to provide leadership and technical support to a team of Fire Engineers of varying capability, from Graduate to Senior. You will be responsible for overseeing their development, day to day team management and the financial performance of your team. You will be working on UK based and International projects and will be expected to bring in fees after a period of time.

The ideal candidate is going to have a minimum of 15 years in the industry. Ideally chartered with a MSc in a relevant fire engineering subject. You will have exemplary knowledge of the fire safety sector and will be well connected in the Southern Market and surrounding areas. You will have demonstrable project experience across multiple sectors and have an enthusiastic approach to the development of the engineers you manage. You must be a chartered engineer and member of the IFE, with demonstrable experience in growing a division and known for your technical delivery.
