Senior Electrical Design Engineer - Data Centres - To £55K + Package
Established over 75 years ago, this global multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy now employs over 5000 staff from a network of 50 offices. With a reputation for being able to design and deliver a project of any size they specialise in complex projects such as data centres, pharmaceutical, healthcare, industrial and distribution facilities.
Working as part of a their dedicated "Mission Critical" team you'll be involved in projects from feasibility to construction and have a significant input in the team, decisions and ultimately the overall success of the firm.
Key duties
- Attend and/or lead client and design team meetings.
- Develop concept and detailed design of electrical services.
- Produce specifications, calculations, equipment schedules and reports.
- Coordinate your designs with the mechanical and structural engineers.
- Maintain a commercial awareness of projects, track hours versus agreed fee's
- Agree any variations or changes to the design prior to allocating additional hours.
- Monitor the quality of the work produced by electrical engineers.
- Monitor the quality of the contractor's electrical installations, ensuring they meet the client's requirements and local standards / regulations.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical, Building Services or Power Systems Engineering.
- Minimum of five years' experience in a similar role.
- Previous mission critical design experience across the data center, life sciences or telecoms sectors.
- Previous experience seeing projects through from concept to construction.
- Ideally already a member of a professional body such as the IET or CIBSE.
