Our client is a well known Multidisciplinary consultancy wit offices internationally. They have seen a sustained period of growth across the business in particular within the Building Services team and are currently looking to employ the help of a Principal Electrical Engineer to come and join their established team in Bristol. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to work on major complex schemes.
It is important that the successful engineer is extremely technically competent when it comes to the design of Electrical systems for a variety of building types. You will work with the Engineering Partner on a regular basis, reporting weekly on progress to ensure all projects are completed to a high technical standard, on time and on budget. You will also have experience in mentoring more junior members of staff and overseeing a team. Ideally you will have carried out fee earning work and will also be used to undertaking feasibility studies etc. Have an understanding of project costs and the impact of designs on the overall budget for the scheme, and monitor time against these costs. Carry out condition surveys for the specified discipline for combining into an overall report for the client. Produce detailed performance specifications, room data sheets and equipment schedules. Understand project risks and produce combined MEP Residual Risk Reports in accordance with the CDM regulations with input from other disciplines as required. Attend sites as required throughout the project life cycle and carry out appropriate site reports. Visit sites as required to determine the quality of the installation process related to the specific discipline and report to the client for the whole project. Carry out and report on defects inspections and snagging and input in to the witnessing of commissioning.
Principal Electrical Engineer Requirements:
- Degree in electrical engineering or building services
- Working towards CEng and ideally industry accredited qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years in the building services industry
- Technically capable in design of electrical systems
