Inclusive of London Weighting. These positions also attract a Market Forces Supplement of up to £3,000 per annum.

The City of London is a centre of excellence in tall, complex, multi-tenanted buildings. Working with eminent designers and contractors, our projects portfolio incorporates leading edge innovative design solutions. The next generation of large-scale environmentally sustainable office developments are now being planned and we are looking for the next generation of technical specialists to join us in the Building Control team.

The new building safety regime will bring exciting opportunities within Building Control, driving up safety in our built environment. These roles will be a key part of that opportunity. You will contribute to providing a diverse range of services including Dangerous Structures, Special and Temporary Structures and with the potential to become involved in environmental resilience work.

We have two roles available at either Building Control Officer, Senior Building Control Officer or Group Building Control Officer on a career grade. Both roles are open to established building control professionals or those with an M&E or Structural Engineering background.

Building Control Officer.

This would suit someone working towards a professional qualification, with an interest in contributing to interesting and varied projects. Whilst construction industry experience is essential, training will be provided for those moving into a Building Control environment for the first time.

Senior Building Control Officer.

Professionally qualified and with structural or M&E design or construction experience of large projects or an experienced building control officer. This role will allow you to develop your skills on large complex projects within a supportive team, with the potential for career advancement.

Group Building Control Officer.

You will be a professionally qualified and highly experienced M&E Engineer, Structural Engineer or Building Control Officer. This role would suit experienced industry professionals looking to move into a public service role as a specialist within building control or, equally an experienced Building Control Officer.
