About the role 

The role will manage all Mechanical Engineering aspects of the University Estate, working within Estates and Commercial Services to ensure the highest quality of provision and safe working environment using internal and external resources and expertise in-line with best practice to ensure projects are managed effectively and delivered in-line with approved budgets.  Line management responsibilities for the in-house mechanical services staff.

The postholder will possess excellent organisational and presentation skills, be innovative, with a flare for promoting sustainable solutions to help drive our 2030 carbon neutral target and be experienced in managing multiple projects and able to prioritise complex and often conflicting project demands.

You will possess extensive experience and knowledge of installation and maintenance of mechanical building services systems and have a clear working knowledge of the latest gas, water and legionella regulations and an understanding of energy management and energy tariffs. 

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; with the ability to engage and influence at all levels.

BTEC HNC / HND or equivalent in Mechanical Services/ Building Services Engineering 

Membership of a relevant institution (CIBSE. IMechE)
