Mechanical Project Engineer, National Engineering Specialist, Belfast based, Permanent job, £40 - £45k.

Our client is of the UK's largest Engineering and Construction companies, who offer a range of specialist services to the construction industry. Within the mechanical building services sector, they install specialist pipework equipment and are a major supplier of specialist installation equipment.

Your new role
Due to increased workload this organisation is seeking to hire a Mechanical Services Engineer who will be a key member of the engineering team. As the Project Engineer you will manage the design, execution and close out of industrial, gas storage and generation equipment installation projects. The value of these projects will range from £5k - £1m.

You will also survey, measure and report on a range of installations at a variety of locations across Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland, the majority of which are healthcare or industrial manufacturing sites.

As part of the role, you will be required to create schematic CAD drawings from your surveys to complete each site report. It also essential that you are familiar with Microsoft Office suite of packages such as Outlook, Excel and Word and have a good understanding ISO 9001 quality management systems. You will be based from the company's east Belfast office with a mix of working from home and travelling across the island of Ireland.


What you'll need to succeed
You must be either a mechanical engineer from a contracting background or consulting engineering background with onsite experience of large scale industrial mechanical services.
You will also be required to provide technical support to other staff and customers.
You must be capable of producing schematic CAD drawings.
It is essential that you have a full UK driving licence and be prepared to travel regularly throughout Ireland, North and South (a company vehicle will be provided) and occasionally overseas.


What you'll get in return
The salary range for this role is £40,000 - £45,000 depending on experience.
A company car will be provided.
