This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual with strong negotiating and problem-solving skills who would relish the challenge of working in a dynamic and complex environment.

The role would be based across our three sites, as required by the project, and is a permanent position.  It is anticipated that the initial job focus will be on the decommissioning of the existing Heatherwood hospital, and delivering infrastructure projects at Wexham Park Hospital.

The successful individual will have extensive knowledge of construction and M&E design, building contracts, construction legislation, and building regulations with a minimum 5 years of experience in a range of building construction-related work. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for and will act as the mechanical and electrical lead on all Capital Projects as a key member of the capital project team. They will have professional accountability in terms of M&E items on all capital projects. They will instigate technical investigations and provide diagnostic reports in respect of engineering services across the Trust.

You must have relevant experience and qualifications to provide M&E-specific construction advice for the delivery of capital projects from completion of the brief through to handover of the finished scheme back to Estates and the end-users including the trust board. You will be expected to have tact, diplomacy, and the ability to interact with a wide range of people as well as being fully conversant with works information drawings, specifications, schedules, and other relevant documents concerning each project that you will oversee.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To be responsible for the design, specification and construction of mechanical and electrical engineering services as part of the Trust’s capital programme.
  • To support the designers and the FHFT teams by providing engineering design input to feasibility studies, detailed designs and post contract works, to ensure the effective delivery of Capital Projects across the trust. To provide professional engineering services advice, as required, to colleagues throughout the Trust.  
  • To help develop the Trust’s strategy in terms of power, heat and lighting across the estate.
