Have you achieved a degree or Masters level qualification in Building Services Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar Engineering related subject, and have obtained relevant professional memberships and registrations?

Are you a people person with excellent leadership skills and proven experience of managing multi-disciplinary teams?

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen to work in a strategic and forward-thinking role as a Senior Building Services Engineer, on a full time, permanent basis.

You’ll be joining a modern, cutting-edge police force, as we invest into our estates and assets. You will deliver large-scale projects and changes as you work in partnership with Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service, ensuring that our combined estates are fit for the future; resilient, efficient and cost effective in delivering a service to the people of Derbyshire.

As part of our Assets Department, your team will be keeping our buildings well maintained and repaired. You will be managing building projects, electrical and mechanical installations and systems, as well as managing our use of energy to achieve environmental targets.

You will have extensive post qualification experience of working in a busy, building focused estates team or similar environment. Using your expertise and knowledge to develop an ongoing strategic plan you will ensure compliance to legislative and regulatory standards, managing and maintaining mechanical, electrical and environmental services.

As a natural leader you will be able to manage staff, contractors, projects, plans and programs concurrently and effectively, ensuring that all work is completed in a timely manner with safety and standards being paramount. Having managed a variety of teams and personnel in the past, including both technical and professional employees, consultants and contractors, you will bring together a number of individuals and teams to get the job done, including working collaboratively with other emergency services.

You must have achieved a degree or Masters level qualification in Building Services Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar Engineering related subject and have full membership of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) and the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). You will also have or are working towards, professional registration of Incorporated Engineer (IEng) or Chartered Engineer (CEng). Knowledge and experience of AutoCAD or similar software would also be beneficial within role.

Please note that as part of the MV/SC vetting requirements, you must have 5 years continuous UK residency.
