Building Physics Engineer (Environmental Designer) to £50K

Looking to join a consultancy who are as passionate about sustainability as you are?

Offering MEP Design, Energy Modelling, Sustainability and BIM services they employ over 1000 staff across the UK, USA, Australia, and Europe and specialise in the design and delivery of high-performance buildings.

Due to growth, they are now looking for an additional Environmental Designer / Building Physics Engineer for their London studio. In addition to having a reputation for quality, innovation, and staff development they are known for achieving one of the world's highest LEED scores; and for regularly winning the "CIBSE employer of the year" and "CIBSE Building Performance" awards.

The key elements of your role will involve.

  • Undertake environmental analysis including energy performance analysis, MEP systems simulation, compliance analysis against UK and international energy codes (Part L, ASHRAE 90.1 Appendix G), daylight, sun/shade, glare, external microclimate, CFD
  • Continue to develop a broad understanding of sustainability issues as they relate to the built environment.
  • Apply LEED, BREEAM and other international benchmarking systems to projects.
  • Maintain knowledge of latest codes and regulations as they relate to environmental design.
  • Manage projects to achieve Client satisfaction and profitability targets.
  • Work as part of a team to meet common gaols.
  • Support and mentor engineers, technicians, and consultants.
  • Illustrate concepts and prepare written reports and presentations.
  • Adequately communicate thoughts and ideas to other staff, professionals and clients in verbal and written.
  • Use a range of modelling software (such as IESVe, ApacheHVAC, TAS, Revit, Hevacomp and OpenFOAM) to model how buildings will operate.
  • Look at bridging the gap between how a building will operate during the design stage versus in operation.
