Electrical Engineer

Summary:

Our client is an award winning international studio for architecture and integrated design, with headquarters in London, and 14 offices worldwide employing c1400 people. We have an exciting opportunity for a Building Services Electrical Design Engineer to be part of their multidisciplinary engineering team in London. You will be required to work within a team to develop the successful projects through clear strategy and proactive commitment nationally and internationally. Responsibilities:

• Undertake and deliver high quality detailed engineering design for electrical building services and power distribution systems, including calculations, analysis, schematics, drawings, diagrams, models, specifications, and other documents required
• Knowledge of relevant legislations, standards, regulations, guides and good practise
• Take responsibility, where required by the project leader, for specific areas of the design and project development
• Seek, complete and record evidence of, continuing professional development (CPD) in accordance with the requirements of the relevant professional Institution
• To have thorough knowledge of and compliance with internal procedures and standards
• Represent the company in professional and diligent manner at all times, attend meetings with client, project team, contractors, etc
• Contribute and assist as required by the Project Leader, Senior Partner, or nominated Engineer
• Take responsibility in project document control and filing as required by the project leader

Qualities and skills required:

• Electrical engineering or Building Services Degree with electrical bias, 2,1 or higher
• At least 4 years' experience in a building design engineering capacity within the UK and/or internationally
• Working towards Chartered Engineer application within 24 months
• Proven ability to design electrical Building Services systems and demonstrate rationale behind proposals
• Demonstrate knowledge, understanding and application of low carbon design
• Sharing technical knowledge and experience with junior engineers
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Communicate and present in a professional manner, both written and
• Excellent interpersonal skills, leadership and work well in a team
• Actively demonstrate initiative and able to work independently under pressure to meet deadlines efficiently
• A flexible and open attitude towards new ways of working and commitment to independent, lifelong learning

• Able to manage sensitive and sometimes confidential information

Desirable:

Experience in Education, Hospital, Retail, Airport, Stadia, High-rise Mixed Used Commercial projects delivery.
