The UK Atomic Weapons Establishment is embarking on a Replacement Nuclear Warhead programme, to ensure the UK continuous at sea deterrent.
To enable the successful delivery of this programme, we are seeking an experienced Principal Handover Engineering Manager who can drive, deliver and execute key workstreams across multiple projects to ensure successful completion and full operational capability.

Package: £55,450- £85,000 (depending on your suitability and level of experience)

Acting as a focal point and signpost for advice, information and expertise about policy, best practice, engineering knowledge and standards you will provide due governance and management to meet relevant Nuclear Licence Conditions, safety codes and quality standards.
This role will involve leading a team of Handover Managers & Co-ordinators to successfully deliver projects to time, cost, quality and safety. This is a pivotal role which will require you to foster key stakeholder relationships with both internal and external customers.
Though not to be considered a check list, we will be looking for candidates to demonstrate:
Degree qualification, ideally Chartered, in an engineering discipline or have proven experience working in a similar environment
Experience delivering nuclear or conventional projects to BSRIA soft-landing principals
Ability to articulate technical complexities and have very good communication skills
Ability to deliver engineering capability across a manufacturing and/or research environment
An understanding and ability to apply applicable legislation and standards relevant to safety within engineering
Experience leading multi-discipline teams through the engineering lifecycle
An awareness of supply chain methodologies
Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role and be willing and able to work in designated areas. Experience working in a nuclear environment under licence conditions is desirable but not essential. Some UK and overseas travel maybe required once restrictions are lifted.
