Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer

Due to an internal promotion, I'm looking for an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer for this high profile multi-disciplinary consultancy based in South West England.

Working in harmony with the inhouse structural engineers, BIM Technicians, Energy and Sustainability Engineers, Fire Engineers and Building Performance Engineers, you'll work on a range of complex or tall buildings around the globe.

Current projects include several Science and Research Facilities, Cultural buildings such as museums or theatres, stadiums and major, Net Zero Carbon masterplans.

You'll use your passion for digital engineering, coding and Revit to help design low carbon buildings. You'll enjoy working on these projects through RIBA stages 2,3,4 and 5 and then liaise with the Building Performance Engineers post occupancy, to better understand how the building is really performing.

As an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing LV distribution systems including containment, distribution board locations and small power systems, performance system containment requirements, fire detection systems and lighting designs.

You'll enjoy loads of autonomy and flexibility, the option of working from home up to three days a week and receive plenty of support and mentoring from the Seniors, Principals and Associates.

Requirements

Degree qualified and ideally pursuing your CEng or IET membership.

At least two years' experience in a design role, working for a consultancy or design and build contractor

Able to use Revit, Amtech or ElectricalOM.

Ideally some experience with coding using C++ or Rhino or Grasshopper

Good understanding of Electrical services and an appreciation for mechanical (HVAC) services.

Active member of CIBSE Young engineer's committee and keen interest in the built environment
