Principal / Associate Sustainability Consultant - London - £55 to £70K + Package + Fast Track to Partner

Would you like to combine stunning architecture with state-of-the-art engineering?

With your background in Architecture, Sustainability, and a keen interest in historic or listed buildings; you will be responsible for setting up and growing a dedicated Sustainability team within this established architectural practice.

As a Principal or Associate Sustainability Consultant, you will initially take a lead for Sustainability on a range of UK projects; assisting and guiding clients to understand what the need to do to achieve Net Zero Carbon. Current projects include universities, museums, schools, chur churches, commercial offices, and hotels; typically ranging in value from £10 - £50M spanning RIBA Stages 2 - 6.

You will use your understanding of building environmental factors such as daylight, thermal comfort, solar shading, natural ventilation, building fabrics, embodied carbon, and sustainability to help future proof buildings; ensuring they are ready for 2030 and 2050 requirements.

You will also draw upon your knowledge of BREEAM, Passivhaus and LEED to work in harmony with the inhouse R&D Engineers, Architects and Designers and ensure a seamless integration of sustainability, architecture, and the MEP Building Services elements on a project.

Reporting to one of the Partners, you will be responsible for Sustainability and Building Physics for the practice, and for delivering both internal and external presentations to clients and colleges.

You will use your clear communication and influencing skills as you build rapport with external engineers, designers, clients, and contractors and ensure projects remain on time and budget.

As a Team Leader you will be responsible for mentoring and developing a team of Sustainability Engineer and Consultants and also undertake some research into new or emerging technologies, materials, and methods of construction.

Requirements

• Degree qualified and at least eight years' experience as a Sustainability Consultant (Or Building Physics Engineer or Environmental Modeller etc).
• Previous experience working for an architectural, building services, sustainability, or multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy.
• Able to collaborate with the architects to achieve award winning, highly sustainable, low carbon developments.
• Familiar with a range of Environmental modelling tools such as IESVe, PHPP, Rhino or Grasshopper.
• Able to work from the London office 2 to 3 days a week.
