Your new role
You will be reporting into the Commercial Director and be responsible for preparing and submitting tenders and budgets, including obtaining supporting quotations for subcontract work, materials and plant. In addition, you will also be responsible for supervising the work of junior staff when required. Finally, you will need to be able to estimate from first principles.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you will have prior experience of estimating on civils projects. In addition, you will also understand the process of getting a project priced up, procuring subcontractors, cost plans and understand the timings to get each process followed through. Finally, you will be an effective team player, communicator and be able to work independently.
