Job Details

We are expanding our team of Building Services Engineers in Manchester, and in turn are looking to appoint a design-focused Senior Electrical Engineer. The successful Senior Electrical Engineer can expect to join a leading multi-disciplinary consultancy, with on hand support, and genuine scope for career development and progression.

As Senior Electrical Engineer, you will work to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget and to the right scope and quality. This a key role to delivering exceptional technical and commercial solutions to a range of clients across the UK and a variety of sectors to include heritage, education, healthcare and defense.

Other key duties of the role include:

  • Carry out building analysis
  • Liaising directly with clients and contractors
  • Prepare and manage designs, feasibility studies, reports, and contract documents
  • Supervise team of Engineers and Technicians
  • Assist in management of project resources and costs
  • Working collaboratively with the director to ensure successful delivery of projects

About You

We are looking for an experienced and design-focused Senior Electrical Engineer who has Chartered Engineer status and/or degree level qualification and/or relevant number of years’ experience.

The successful Senior Electrical Engineer should have the desire and capabilities to develop their career within a people and client orientated construction and property consultancy.

Key knowledge and experience we’d like you to have:

  • Familiarity with electrical and lighting design software’s such as Hevacomp/Amtech/Dialux
  • Fire alarm and emergency lighting design experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of BS7671
  • Structured wiring system and security system design experience
  • Resource planning and management experience - desirable
  • Knowledge of construction industry design processes and procurement arrangements
  • Knowledge of H&S/CDM requirements and current legislation e.g., UK Building Regulations
