Job Details
An excellent opportunity for an experienced Building Physics Engineer to join a unique and established building design and manufacturer based in their York office. The successful candidate will work in a variety of industries, however, the key focus is within the education sector.
As a Building Physics engineer, you will work on dynamic thermal modeling and simulation, as well as assist in other areas of work such as renewable energy assessments, energy audits, BREEAM etc.
Typical responsibilities will involve:
Carrying out dynamic thermal modeling simulations
Part L domestic and non-domestic calculations.
Actively liaising with other in-house designers as well as external contractors and architects.
Report & tender preparations.
Assist in the expansion of the building physics and energy master planning capabilities of the team
Building Physics Consultant Requirments:
Degree in Relevant field
Held a similar position within the built environment
Experience/proficiency in the use of IES or other similar software packages; ability to prepare thermal models and undertake heating and cooling loads calculations, daylight modeling, Part L calculations, natural ventilation simulations, and overheating analysis.
Level 5 energy assessor
Up to date knowledge of legislation/ British standards
Sound understanding of mechanical design
Knowledge/experience in BREEAM - desirable
