Head of Building Services – Scotland for the highly reputable Baker Hicks Consultancy, part of the Morgan Sindall Group. Baker Hicks are a leading European-wide multi-disciplinary design company, working on a range of complex projects across various sectors including - public sector and government, life sciences. defence, custodial and laboratories and Hays are delighted to partner with Baker Hicks for this appointment.

This Senior level appointment offers a market leading package together with the opportunity to work on multi million pound projects (some ranging up to £250 million), across Scotland, in collaboration with other Tier 1 building services contractors. Projects are often high profile and industry leading in terms of design and future thinking. Example projects:

  • New Build £70million in Highland with state of the art design
  • Two projects with East Dunbartonshire Council in the leisure sector
  • Life Science project, £30million in west of Scotland

The role will involve:

Day to Day :

  • Business Development & nurturing client relationships
  • Budget management/ delivery
  • Tenders, Fee proposal and commercial reviews  
  • Resourcing the right teams
  • Quality Assurance
  • Career reviews, appraisals, set up structure, timesheets/ hours management

Your new role + What you'll need to succeed

  • A Mechanical bias would be preferred, though not mandatory
  • Appreciation of sustainability and Passive House projects
  • Building on existing, and creating new, client relationships
  • Tendering for projects and QA procedures
  • Team (approx. 20) management and resourcing
  • Ability to manage multi million pounds projects
