Are you a talented Electrical Design Engineer within the building services industry looking for something a bit different?

The Directorate of Estates and Facilities has an exciting opportunity within our Projects Design Team for an enthusiastic Electrical Design Engineer with a proven track record designing and managing construction projects. The team is seeking a highly motivated Electrical Design Engineer with a solid understanding of electrical systems, infrastructure, excellent communication skills and project management experience to work on a diverse variety of refurbishment and maintenance projects across the University campus.

You will have a campus wide role with the opportunity to work in our exciting variety of buildings. From heritage buildings with listed status, to state-of-the-art advanced teaching and research premises, the scope of this job presents a remarkable opportunity to the right candidate and gives the opportunity to deliver maintenance and improvement projects within these unique facilities across a world top 50 university, helping to support our ambitious strategies.

Over the last 12 months the Projects Design Team has delivered numerous projects including, various lab refurbishments and conversions, office alterations, access improvements in both academic and residential buildings and improving lighting in labs. The individual projects have construction values from £10k to £500k. 

The successful electrical design engineer will be professionally qualified and have a good understanding of the building services industry and a good level of design experience. They will ideally have seen projects from inception to completion and will be comfortable working on multiple projects at any one time. They will have up to date knowledge of building regulations and legislation and will be able to use a variety of design software specific to the building services industry such as Amtec etc.
