Electrical Design Engineer

Your new company

An excellent opportunity to join one of the UKs leading independent M&E building services companies. Established over 65 years ago your new company has 7 offices throughout the UK with an unrivalled reputation for reliability and technical expertise. They have a portfolio of services which extend beyond mechanical and electrical engineering to include building physics, sustainability, and renewable energy design, medical as well as specialist gas service design in addition to facilities management.


Your new role

You will be working alongside a small team of 10 including two graduates which with time you will be able to pass on your knowledge and help develop their careers. There will be a varied workload of public and private sector projects that will encompass a range of different sectors including higher education, healthcare, leisure, residential and hotel projects. You will work collaboratively with other offices around the country to help deliver large projects. You will be working closely with the team to deliver and complete design solutions which will help create a greater understanding of the design process and standards applicable to the full extent of the projects scope and enhances the team's knowledge base as a result. Your new team work to an open delivery structure to meet the needs of the clients' expectations. You will be supported and encouraged to develop your existing skills including open project dialogue, business matters, client interactions and site activity. You will be leading and developing detailed briefs in conjunction with clients and senior colleagues allowing you to establish and maintain client relationships.


What you'll need to succeed

You will need a degree in Building Services HND/HNC or equivalent with 5+ years post degree experience in the public or private sector. You will need to be able to establish and develop good working relationships with both professionals and clients through good written and verbal communication. You will need to be able to work with minimal supervision, prioritising your workload, to meet deadlines using a variety of design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit. ACBSIE or MIET registered is preferred and as such have an excellent understanding of current regulations. You will need to be able to demonstrate a flexible approach to work and have experience in leading projects. A full UK driving Licence is required as there is option for a company car or car allowance and travel across the North West.
